@PinkQuetzal9 Though it wasn’t initially intended to be a safety, I got into Swarthmore yesterday, so I suppose that that is where I’ll matriculate if I don’t get into the Ivies, Stanford, or Georgetown.
@LindsayHarvard Chapel Hill was my safety (and I got in ) but its gonna be hard to pay since im International.
are likely letters still going out right now?
also why is the percentage of deferred students being accepted in the regular round so low?
@wherewillibe2021 There’s no way to know unless some one post about getting one. And it’s pretty low, like 3% or something.
do you guys think it would be too late to send an application update now?
@wherewillibe2021 the acceptance rate is low for EVERYONE during the RD round. Are you surprised though, that deferred applicants have a lower rate of acceptance? Not trying to be rude, but they accepted the students they wanted during the SCEA round.
@temples Probably but you wont lose anything in doing so
@temples I would say it depends on what your update is. What is the update on?
I’m sending in an update about an award I just received, so you’re not alone @temples
Anyone applying to Harvard with an AFROTC scholarship?
Anyone applying to the Berklee - Harvard Joint Program?
@Travisafb one of my friend’s isdoing Harvard ROTC. What state are you from?
@juniormathwiz Air Force ROTC?
I got interviews from Princeton and Duke. Rejected from UChicago (Supplements were average) @namelessmonster
Directly from the Harvard admissions office. “Historically EA deferred applicants have been accepted at the same rate as the RD round.” So expect a 5-6% acceptance rate for those who were deferred in the EA round.
The RD rate is about 3.1% not the overall rate which is just north of 5%.
Sadly, it seems that the acceptance rate for deferred applicants tends to be a bit lower than that of even the regular decision acceptance rate. (At least for the class of 2019.)
Harvard RD Acceptance Rate: 3.227% (https://www.■■■■■■■■■■■■/2019-ivy-league-admissions-statistics/)
Harvard Deferred Acceptance Rate: 2.3% (https://www.boston.com/news/education/2015/12/11/harvard-accepts-record-low-percentage-of-early-applicants)
I wish all of you the best of luck though!
I was wondering who else had a 36 ACT? Cause my GPA is low for Harvard ( 4.5) just wondering who else is in the same boat as me? Thanks guys
@Multiverse7, wöw, what a significant difference!
