I was able to log in as well and got the same thing as @ashley_2023
@ashley_2023 @thatsthetea Ok…this is weird. I logged in too, but I didn’t get the home page you guys are talking about…I got a blank page with text that said “logging you in” or something and I was whisked back to my application portal.
hmm interesting. i’m sure it doesn’t mean anything.
I got home page thing too, nothing specific to me.
dairyqueen, you have to log out of your portal, then try it
Ohhh @Illuminate27 that makes sense lol
Theres literally no need t analyze all these small moves/features. The only way a non LL non diversity letter app find out before Ivy Day of their chances is by no way at all. Nothing confirms it.
Finaid req. are only u completing forms/stuff the finaidcom wants in case you get in. IN CASE. They have it ready for that.
Hey guys! Did any one receive an email letting you guys know when Harvard will be updating their decisions and all? I got one from Brown and one from Princeton but Harvard didn’t send one in
I didn’t get one of those from any of my Ivys (Harvard, Yale, Columbia or Cornell). It’s still a little early, maybe by early next week.
@daisyduck Wait an email?? I got one from Brown but didn’t get anything from Princeton. When did you get the email?
^^^
It depends on university policy.
All uni’s are different and have different rationales in operating with apps.
The biggest idiot would be someone who assumes they operate in a similar/same way in any/one aspect if at all.
cornell send us a diversity letter and email two days ago.
@Gufusus They sent it to you on Monday of this week?
I have been reading a lot about in this thread about Harvard interview… I thought they interview any candidates if there is an Alumni in the area … and if there is no one to interview that will not affect the application " assuming the application is strong"
@daisyduck we only got from Brown but not from Princeton
Like i said before, all schools are different. If its Harvard’s policy not to do DL’s this year/at all, then its for them. I havent heard a DL come by from Harvard to an app (mostly since they dont do one IMO).
Regarding the interview, idk if theres any prescreening of apps for realistic admissions chances before an interview is offered, but if it is, thats bad news, and if its not, then there’s no alum in the area. They said the interview doesnt adversely affect chances, i.e. it slightly negatively affects your overall app chances if there’s no interview, in the worst case. If your app is strong enough (arbitrarily decided by the adcom), then you should be fine without one.
THis is what theyre tryna say.
I wonder how much this is true for countries (if not all countries where interviews are offered in some form) where at least there are an insane amount of applicants mindlessly shooting their shot by hearing the name ‘Harvard’; a country where the population is insanely high; a country or countries for whom the sum of populations slightly exceeds 0.25 of the total world population perhaps.
???
I talked to the interview guy from Harvard and he said that he’ll get the list of accepted students one week in advance. He is guessing by next Monday
I think they arent allowed to tell this to applicants?
anyways, the interview guy should be getting the results of his interviewed apps, not all 45K apps.
Recently I sent my update with my National Scholastic Writing Gold Medal award to the admission office. I unexpectedly received a “congratulation” email from Region AO.
Does that mean I have a chance of being accepted? Normally Region AO won’t bother to reply applicants’ email.
Any idea? Thanks
