@happyfam Congrats! what state are you from?
Congrats to all who got in!!
Just made an account to say congrats to everyone that got in!! does anyone know if more will come out tmrw? :,)
@happyfam @sunflower62 Congrats y’all!!! What state are you from from? What major or field of study did you indicate on common app? What waitlist materials did you send in?
Just trying to gauge the demographics of what Harvard is needing to round out the Class of 2023 (and 2024) and what the waitlist community can do? Thanks, and again, congratulations!!!
I give up on Harvard. Peace guys, heading to Cornell A & S.
honestly i give up on harvard too. stanford i go!!
Same, this isn’t worth obsessing over anymore. Columbia '23!
So if you have one of these updates this is a rejection?
If you miss the call do they leave a voicemail? I received a ton of calls from MA today but I’m positive most of them are just spam.
Generic number for Office of Undergraduate Admissions is 617-495-1551
Take the waitlist as a recognition of your abilities! I am sure all of us have great options elsewhere!
njanne19 I don’t have one of those and I havent been accepted as far as I know so it could just be an error.
What does the update look like, my portal looks the same as before?
@ddelight Thank you so much! I just added new awards/community service activities that were not on the application. I treated it like an update
Can I get y’alls opinion?
I absolutely want to attend Harvard because it offers so many resources and connections to help me pursue a career in education policy. I come from a school system riddled with inequality and from a state consistently ranked in the bottom 5 in education. Harvard will allow me to become an effective leader in education policy, and I don’t think any other university I am interested in can do the same.
So, with that said, if I’m not able to get off the waitlist, should I defer college for a year so I can reapply as a freshman applicant? Should I attend my current choice and apply as a freshman (not transfer) if I am willing to forfeit transfer credit (i don’t even know if this is possible)?
I am completely honored by being waitlisted, but I feel bad knowing Harvard is THE ONE for me - and no, it’s because of “rank” or “name”.
I appreciate y’alls help!
@David5700044 Bro, honestly you don’t need Harvard to reach your goals. You’ve got great options.
As to reapplying, I highly doubt if you are going to make it. What are you going to do in the short length of period that will make an ao change his/her previous judgment? I hate to disappoint you but going down the threads over the years I have actually never picked up a person who got in the second round.
@David5700044 Absolutely not. You’d probably fit in well, but it’s just way too competitive and risky to defer college for. Learn to love where you’re going and push Harvard to the back of your mind. I wish you the best of luck for the waitlist, but if it doesn’t work out that doesn’t mean your college experience will be bad. I’m sure wherever you’re going has a lot to offer - and you can always send in an a transfer app next year!
@David5700044 Since you’re openly asking for opinions, my quick answer is no. Do not delay entering college (if you’re admitted into a terrific option school) so that you can redo all over again this angst and anxiety a year from now with the same 4.5% chance of admission next year as this year. The type of work/career you’re interested in is something that will likely require an advanced degree anyway and not merely an undergraduate degree. I suggest you go all out and jump all in your current choice school ( I assume you only applied to other schools that have your interest as part of their curriculum) and absolutely kill it in college and then apply to Harvard’s grad school of ed in 4-5 years.
are we at 5 so far, including the UK admit?
If there has been 5 reported admits online there’s probably 10-20 total
Hey guys,
Will more calls come in tomorrow? I guess i may have been too hopefully. 40 spots is not a lot, so not so sure at this point. I am hoping more calls roll in tomorrow, but I’m not sure how likely this is and my thinking and hope are probably too wishful.
