Harvard Class of 2025 — Regular Decision

Thank you!

honest opinion!

Hi, I was accepted REA this year and know that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding admissions right now so I thought sharing my stats and ecs would be helpful.

Stats: 35 ACT composite, 36 superscore
4.89 GPA
Ranked 1/760
No SAT subject tests
8 AP exams (all 5s)

Ecs:
-National and International awards in speech and debate, science, and art (also had publications in notable medical journals)

Hey, one more thing. I did not have a interview during EA, and I have heard opinions that you could contact the school via e-mail in order to show your continued interest and suggest an interview. On the other hand, I do not want it to be considered as “nagging” or something.
Should I contact Harvard about a possible interview?

You can send a LOCI but cannot request an interview

I know this is kind of a weird question, but one of my recommenders noted that he would like to revise the recommendation letter he sent in. He feels the old one wasn’t filled with nearly as many anecdotes as there should be, which he read online. Im glad he’s my recommender and Im sure hed be able to improve on his recommendation letter greatly, but the problem is that the teacher evaluation is already sent. Is it a good idea to create a new recommenders account with all the same info, with just a revised letter, and select that one in the application? We arent doing anything fraudulent, just adding more info, and I still haven’t seen the letter he sent in, waiving my right to view it, so I’m not exactly sure of the changes he would make. Any input would be rlly appreciated :DD

Was accepted REA. From Arizona - Submitted test optional! I have a quick question for everyone else that was admitted. Did you receive that famous Harvard Package in the mail yet?

I have yet to receive mine. It did say in the acceptance letter that it should be arriving in “the coming weeks.”

Hey everyone, I’m applying RD to Harvard. I was wondering what the word count is for Harvard’s supplemental essay? Or how many words you wrote, for those of you accepted or who already applied. Because I can’t find the recommended word count on Harvard’s website or Common App, and the last thing I want is to write too little/too much.

There is no recommended word count, but quality is more important than quantity.

Does anyone know if Harvard accepts a LOCI and if so, where do we submit them?

Yes they do. Updates are submitted via the portal.

Thanks!

My pleasure

Yeah it’s whatever but usually about 500-650 words.

Hi everyone. I’m applying RD and I was wondering if anyone knows if our guidance counselors can submit transcripts and letters of recommendation after the deadline. I looked on the website and it says that “all application materials must be received by January 1st for the application to be considered.” I’m nervous because my counselor isn’t checking their email over break, so if anyone could let me know if it’s okay for counselors to submit materials after the deadline, that’d be great.

Yes

So it would be okay if my counselor sends in the materials after break? Is there anything on Harvard’s website that says this? Thank you!

Yes

No. Colleges will give a small grace period for items that are put if your control, like transcripts and recs. But you need to send your part of the application in time. Harvard admissions is on vacation until 1/4 anyway.

Upenn had 38% applicants without testing and accepted 24% without testing
