It is.
you’re correct. rejected from nyu. I am sorry to bring this on the Harvard thread…
My son was waitlisted NYU…now here we are!
haha, lets meet at Harvard (hoping)
Is the whole thing about how having an AO interview instead of an Alum interview means that your chances are higher/they’re pretty interested in your application? I got my interview a little late in the game (I think it was late)- and it was w/ the AO handling my application. Honestly, I loved talking to my interviewer- I felt much more comfortable in that interview than others and it went on for an hour and a half. I’ve heard some rumours about how Harvard AO interviews are rare and a good sign. Which brings me back to my question. Another desperate rumour or is there some truth to it?
I got into UMich, BC, Hamilton and waitlisted at Georgetown (I have other acceptances but these are my highest ranked so far) but I got rejected from a bunch of T20s and other high ranked schools. Does it seem like I have any chance at any Ivies? My school is an Ivy feeder but a lot of kids are legacy/recruited athletes/URM
Does it stand true if you signed up for an AO interview? Cause I signed up in October for a slot and did mine like that.
Are you sure? I’ve never heard of signing up for an AO interview. I submitted my application in January and got an email from the AO in March asking me for the interview
Yeah I signed up for it through their admissions office and did the interview. Maybe it was a faculty member that I did it with? It was def someone who worked there.
wait what you had to sign up for interviews? i’m confused
also i just checked my portal and i’m a RD applicant and the date changed to april 6
I think @alwayshappy25 might be talking about like interviews for learning more about the school, a bit like info sessions? I don’t want to assume but that is the only thing that makes sense, considering they signed up for it and it was in October- long before any college app deadline. I was just asking about a normal interview, but w/ the AO handling your case instead of an alum
@MargueriteAT @gumball0901 I’m not entirely sure how it was reviewed or what it was like, but they did ask me questions and were writing stuff down so it wasn’t only like an info session-- they were taking notes. Similarly, many other schools offered admissions interviews over the summer/early early fall (well before application submissions) for interested students
oh that’s cool!!
dope I hadn’t heard about that but seems cool. I’m not so sure then that our cases were similar so I’m still not sure about what I should think about my interview . I can’t tell if it’s just another paranoid cc urban myth or if it’s real
No down side to posting significant event, even if it only for the applicant to leave it all on the field.
anyone know any possible portal astrology indicators im so desperate lol
actually… maybe??
I know this is definitely a ridiculously long shot, but when I go into my portal, right-click, and hit “Inspect Source Code,” there’s a section in the text that says “wait-list-status”, “conditions-of-admission”, and “admitted-students-website.” I’m guessing that everyone has those?? i don’t want to make anyone panic but this is making me super anxious lol
ive seen this one! apparently its just a part of the source code and everyone has it, its a pretty long shot for harvard to have portal astrology at all but im the most impatient person ever
ohh ok got it, thank you!
