Our junior daughter has gotten a promotion for Harvard class rings that was mailed to the house. I went online to see if there were other companies offering rings, and found an effort by the Undergraduate Council to settle on one ring that would become a long-term tradition. The "One Ring" effort supposedly includes a ring presentation ceremony during junior parents weekend in the spring. Does anyone know what juniors typically do regarding rings?

I'm not sure if she was typical, but my daughter did not buy a class ring and basically ignored them. It just didn't seem to be an issue of interest with her and and her blockmates.

We got our sales pitch today. What's the story with this? They're awfully expensive but I think my d would get the extra small one. I've never worn my class ring and I don't even know where it is.

I went to Harvard, and most people I knew didn't get class rings. I never heard of any kind of ceremony. I did get a ring, but lost mine years ago.

These are a lot less expensive, and possibly more to the point.

Yikes, I hope I don't get in trouble for this.

^I like it =) Now just need to etch "Veritas" on it, and voila it's perfect!

Hey, whaddaya know, there's Yale jewelry on eBay too:

You're fun, Riverrunner! :)
