Hi all,
My daughter applied to Harvard. We just noticed that the CSS Profile priority file date is Feb 1. Does that mean we need to also have the FAFSA done by Feb 1?
We havent received our 2008 taxes back yet, so that I can do the FAFSA.
I was hoping to get it all done by Feb 15th with our 2008 taxes so that I wouldnt have any corrections.
What should we do?

I just checked their website, and both the FASFA and the Profile are due by Feb 1st. DO it now, the corrections to the profile are a pain, but its no big deal with the FASFA. Even if it was, it's not worth the risk of losing financial aid.

Hi, I just registered now to answer this question. I just happened to call Harvard Financial Aid today because I put the wrong code on the FAFSA. Their recording while you're waiting says the CSS is due Feb 1 but the FAFSA is due by 3/1.

Thanks, cam721, for reporting the contents of the FinAid Office phone recording. That is not what their web site says, however. Scroll to the bottom of this page, which tiny type at the bottom says was updated 11/2008.

They list the FAFSA due date as Feb. 1st. I would be inclined to believe the recording. The Mar. 1st date is posted online as the date the tax return is due.

Thank you for all the answers. I too called and heard the same recorded message. I went ahead and did the FAFSA last night...did not want to take a chance. I guess I will have to make corrections when my 2008 taxes are complete. Thanks all! I love CC....you guys are the best! :) Good luck to all in admissions!
