<p>First of all, I realize the impossibility of giving a definite chancing either way for an Ivy League, but ever since I submitted my SCEA to Harvard I've been implacably nervous and insecure about it. So what I really want to know is, should I have hope?</p>

<p>Senior Year Course Load: AP Calc BC, AP European History, AP World History, AP English Lit, Spanish II, Sociology, Advanced Biology</p>
<p>Awards: National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, Wisconsin Senate Scholar, Badger Boys State</p>
<p>Extracurriculars: President of Student Council, NHS, Senior Class, FBLA ; Member of School Board ; VP of AFS (multicultural club) ; Math Team Captain ; State Gold Medalist for Forensics ; GSA Founder</p>
<p>Volunteerism: around 100 hours throughout high school</p>
<p>Essays - one about how much I love Napoleon, another about some experiences with politics I had, and a third about making Youtube videos; overall they're probably 7-9/10</p>
<p>Recommendations - excellent recommendations from teachers (highest/second highest marks on Common App) and great rec from counselor</p>
<p>Other- rural town/school in Wisconsin, white, first generation college, income around 50K for family of 4, male, going into political science/philosophy/international relations</p>
<p>If I am rejected from Harvard, I would realistically want to go to Berkeley or Michigan.. although I will try a handful of other Ivies (Columbia, Brown, Yale, Princeton) and Stanford, too.</p>
