Harvard Engineering?

Yeah, I know, the title is an oxymoron.

I'm not really sure what I want to do for my career, but most of my my EC's call for engineering/math, and I might want to do something related to engineering in grad school. But for my undergrad education, I'm thinking of more of a well-rounded education, which imo Harvard would be best at providing. (I already applied to MIT EA, but about the well-roundedness thing, Harvard > MIT hands down...)

In the questions section of the common app, Harvard asks what area you're most likely to major in - I'm wavering b/w undecided, engineering, and math. The problem with math is that 1) I'm not terribly interested in a math major and 2) I'm not the MOP+ level that Harvard would generally take interest in. So my question is, will putting engineering on the app hurt me?

(I've heard of stories where the interviewer basically asks why the applicant, who expresses an interest in engineering, won't just cross the river to go to MIT)

Absolutely not! I put engineering on my app and I also wrote an essay about my love for engineering. In my interview I talked about why I wanted to do engineering at Harvard. I said I value the liberal arts atmosphere and I want to receive a well-rounded education while studying engineering. Harvard established the B.S programs in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering in 2012. Why would they not want people to join in?
