Harvard Extension/Summer School grades - do they help or hinder?

Son took four classes at Harvard over the past year (as a HS junior) and this summer. Here are the grades -

Introduction to Proteomics: A-
Introduction to Genomics: B
Principles of Genetics : A-
Principles and Techniques of Molecular Biology: A-

Will these grades help him or hinder him for MIT?

Taking Harvard classes the summer after sophomore year and getting mostly-A’s-one-B I think will help him  Not only does it show he can handle college level courses, but it shows an interest in going beyond the high school curriculum.

Thanks PiperXP. Son took the first two in his junior school year and just completed the last two this summer along with a Calc class at UMass.

Yeah, that would definitely help him. It shows that he has an interest in biology beyond the typical high school level, he’s willing to take challenges, and that he can handle college level courses (yes, 3 As and a B definitely shows this). Best of luck.

There’s a Harvard Extension school in my region too. Would I benefit from it if I took Calc and Physics classes there?
