When Harvard recalculates my gpa, assuming they do, will they count college courses taken as an AP course, so a 5? Will they average your GPA from your high school with your GPA from extra classes taken outside of school?

They do not recalculate your GPA and will use the reported GPA on your high school transcript in their AI calculation. They will not count college courses nor will give an extra boost quantitatively. Qualitatively, this might be a different story.

wth? everyone says they recalculate the gpa to their own standards........wow.

whered you get this info?

the gpa is recalculated because in many school districts honors or ap classes are weighted and in other school districts they're not. from what I've heard, they don't use PE classes for their calculations and usually take out easy electives (such as keyboarding). as far as whether or not they weigh aps/honors (to distinguish course difficulty), I have no idea.

your're not going to tell me they recalculate 18,000 GPA's

well.....when you break it down into the different regions and all the admissions people....its not going to be that much for each person...................

I don't think this rumor is true. What they see is what they get.

Well a lot of schools do...the UC system and a lot of other schools.

they dont count community college classes? What the heck...
