Harvard Holiday Reception

Hey did anyone else get an invitiation to local harvard holiday receptions? i got an e-mail from my local harvard thing, inviting me to a reception. Since it was sent out today (12/13) do u think i could assume i was not rejected? So the accept / defer / deny lists are probably already set in stone… as if we didnt’ know that already. but do u guys think this invitation is enough to know that i was not denied? cuz i guess / hope that the alumni group prolly has a list cuz that would be cruel and unusual punihsment for the harvard alumni group to give a rejected applicant an invite to a harvard gathering, right?

the e-mail looked like this (some phrases may be changed and/or removed cuz im paranoid like that)

Dear Early Action Applicant,

On behalf of the Harvard Club of ______________ Committee, I would like to invite you to the Club’s Holiday Reception. It will be held _, December from 5:00 to 7:00p.m.at the Club, located on the corner of so and so streets .

This annual gathering is a chance to meet other applicants, as well as current Harvard undergraduates from the __________ area. There is no need to dress up and feel free to bring your parents!

liar

--

i smell a rat

no, its not for people who get accepted.
my interviewer told me its for all applicants to harvard.

So do I. It says that he is from Ohio. If you go to:
<a href="http://www.haa.harvard.edu/clubs/html/jsites.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.haa.harvard.edu/clubs/html/jsites.html</a></p>

That lists all Harvard Clubs throughout the world. In Ohio, there are two: one in Northeast Ohio and one in Cincinnati. Both don't have any events scheduled that the OP is mentioning.

I got one--I live in Phx, Az--it's hosted by the Harvard Alum Club at a member's house (which can be anywhere in the metro area, obviously). If you haven't gotten one, it's probably just something about your area-Harvard chapter. It doesn't mean you haven't been accepted.

In other words, I have to back Ariesdrgn up on this one--I think it's bonafide. Imagine, a calendar being wrong!!

I got an email like that too. It's scheduled for about a week after decisions come out. At least if i'm rejected, I know I get a free meal right?

haha baccahnalian, i like the way you think.

ty smilie, sunglasses and bacc. alhtough i don't like being called a liar, if i were in u other guy's shoes i would question the validity as well. nice researching thing jayz. btw, u missed 1 ohioo club :P northeast one. but nearly all the club sites r out of date. the northeast ohio one has the "2003 calender of events". but i don't they'd be mean enough to send that invite out, and then have the person who got the invite be rejected early, would thye? thats all i really wanted to know :</p>

I definitely feel sorry, and have fun at the reception!
