i think my essays are pretty good and so are my recs.. i have a rec from my chinese school principal also talking about how i gave back to my chinese community like how i walked in a fashion show for some chinese thing.. or how i taught english to chinese kids in taiwan. and stuff....

sooooooo.... do you im harvard material?!?!
and if i am.. will i survive if i get accepted?

By all means, you are Harvard material. I'm assuming you're an Asian female. You have great SATs. Your extracurriculars are great, as you seem to have a focus on math/science but have done other stuff. You also seem like you not a person who studies day and night, as you did win a pageant and you play sports. Do you have any community service? Work experience? Research?
Your chance of getting in is probably around 50%. However, your community service, work and research could make a big difference.

I just wanted to say you all go to awesome high schools. I only have 7 AP classes offered in my school, and each only have one period, so two never fit for me. I feel kind of like I didn't get the best chance to show myself.

shainaloves, your set! harvard says they like to see us use our opportunities to the fullest. if you your opportunities are limited, it would be easier to live up to them. do everything rigorous you can in your school, and study with the princton review for another ap test, and you'll be set.

If you are self studying, i reccomend studying for bio, i took the class, but didnt learn anything. i read the PR the weekend before the test and got a 4. (its kind of lame, i was hoping for a 5)

thank you guys!!!! your input really helps!! cuz before i read some other girl and i was awed because she had published a book and had a patent and everything and i thought i had no chance whatsoever... so im slightly comforted...lol

if i didnt volunteer that much but i did teach english internationally.. but only for two weeks... how does that rate on the amazing community service chart

It rates in the middle on my scale. On the bottom are activities such as Key Club and NHS and at the top are trips to Haiti to help out. Yours would rank near the top had you stayed longer than two weeks.

urr no, most trips to haiti/africa to help out have been proven to be done just for college apps, according to time or something. so colleges will definately scrutinize these lofty humanitarian works

i know harvard claims that applying early action has no impact on the probability of being accepted...but does early action really not increase your chances of getting in at all?
