I applied for REA and then got deferred to regular decision but now do I have to have another interview? I had one for the REA, but my interviewer emailed me again like “hi this is Mrs. Name and I would like to interview you.” I’m not sure how to reply to that. My question is if I had my interview for REA, do I still need another interview for the regular decision?
You should still do one. It’ll show continued interest, which isn’t an opportunity most deferred applicants get. Make sure to show as much interest as possible.
@izrk02 alright i will reply back to her. Thank you!
Deferred applicants are not ordinarily interviewed again. If the AO feels that the application is strong but the interview report is weak, they might ask for a second interview, but it will be conducted by a different interviewer. It is odd that the first interviewer would ask again because it would add little information and because the interviewers are really busy meeting with new applicants in January and February. I can think of reasons why your interviewer would want to meet again, but they would be speculation.
@jazzing Thank you for the response but she told me it was a mistake.
If they are offering it then def do it. Its better than sending a Letter of continued interest
@Muko1212 my interviewer sent an email saying that I don’t have to do it again so I just said thank you for letting me know. But by the way, whats a letter of continued interest? Do I have to write one?
@Pinkeydance it’s a letter u write showing u are still interested and talk about what has happened to ur extracurriculars and your life since applying. Its not officialy required tho but i would recommend it
@Muko1212 thank you!
