Harvard Interview - is this normal?

I have little to no experience with college interviews since I'm the first kid in the family to be interviewed for college and I'm homeschooled. My Harvard interviewer phoned me last Thursday and asked to meet on Saturday morning. He also requested I bring my transcript and test scores, which I did. My transcript has a "name" for my "school" written on it since California required a school name for an affidavit. He called me on Saturday afternoon to clarify that, which was normal enough. Then he called me yesterday (Sunday) asking if we could meet again because, after reading over my transcript, he realized I have more extracurriculars than what we talked about on Saturday. He also asked me to bring a few writing samples since he saw I'm the senior editor for my school's paper and I got a 790 in writing.

Now perhaps this is completely normal, and I'm reading too far into it. I've just never heard of an interviewer asking to meet twice or calling several times, and I'm wondering if anyone else has.

Thanks!

My gut feeling is that it’s NOT normal for a student who attends a traditional high school, but it might be normal for someone who is home schooled. Sikorsky or T26E4, who have interviewed for their respective schools, may know better.

IMHO: I think it’s peculiar – but unless you sense anything untoward (you never know), I’d try to find a way to meet a 2nd time with the materials that seem to interest him. It seems to portend that he wants to write a comprehensive and supportive report – that’s good – but you should also know that no interviewer’s report has the power to suddenly propel you forward.

Sometimes overzealous interviewers fail to grasp this. I would NEVER do what this guy is doing – it sends the dual message of awkwardness and portrays a false sense of the interview’s importance and prominence.

Proceed, but with eyes open (speaking as a father of a 17 yr old)
