AHHHHH! My first college interview is with Harvard! anyone have any tips? haha thanks

I just scheduled mine too.
November 29th

Dec. 3 for me

How do you schedule?

they contacted me

what r yr stats?

Umm Theres a chance thread out there somewhere…but basically:

I’m a part hispanic CA resident and I sent my app in a week ago or so.
34 ACT
4.56 GPA W
3.89 GPA UW
3/487 class rank
8+ years in karate (black belt in world tang soo do association)
8+ years playing trumpet

I have more ec’s and such, as well as AP and SAT2 test scores, but this is it in a nutshell

The supplement says Intl students from Italy should contact and schedule an interview BEFORE they get contacted. I emailed the Admission office last Thursday, but they haven’t answered to me yet. Is it normal?!

I’m not familiar with international applications but I would say you should wait at least a week before you start to worry

Have something to say.

You mean like questions about Harvard?

I mean don’t walk in there a blank slate and do nothing but sit and wait for them to ask you questions. Don’t give one word answers to questions. Be polished, poised, and polite enough to carry on an adult conversation. And I don’t mean come in with phony, rehearsed pontifications about Aristotle or something. Just be prepared to talk easily and intelligently about things and ideas that are important or meaningful to you and that will give some flavor of who you are.

cool. sounds good

The interview doesn’t really count that much. They just need to confirm that you are not a dummy.

I had my interview last year at a Credit Suisse office. I spent a chunk of the interview asking the interviewer what it was like to work in finance…

Overall, just go in, be natural, be prepared to answer questions. Additionally, don’t be afraid to ask questions either.

alright sounds good. thank you
