Harvard Interview ??

Hii,

My application is not yet complete ( My SAT Subject test scores aren't out yet ) so if I haven't got an interview call from Harvard, Can I still expect it since Harvard offers interviews only after an initial review of the application. ( I got an email from Harvard stating the pre-screening thing. )

Sometimes, it’s better to ask the university concerned instead of equally clueless prospective applicants. Who knows, they might just invite you for an alumni information session or interview. :)

As far as I know, Harvard’s interview period is over. Btw, they don’t consider SAT scores for the interview.

Based on perfectpixie’s postings, I am under the impression they interview people who are expected to be admitted in India?

From the Harvard website 'absence" or “lack” are the keywords here.

Just to clarify both the words,
They can be synonymous, but a lack of has the additional meaning of a shortage of, which is not shared by an absence of.

[Harvard College Admissions § Applying: International Interviews](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/international/interviews.html)

"We encourage international applicants to have an admissions interview when and where it is possible. Our interviewers abroad are normally graduates of the College who volunteer their assistance. If an interviewer is not available sufficiently close to you to make an interview a possibility, the absence of an interview will not adversely affect your candidacy.

The lack of an interview will not adversely affect your application."

@tastycles - I have heard people getting interview even as late as mid march. They generally offer international interviews after an initial review of the application so logically they would require a complete file I guess.

@Tizil7 - I have emailed the college. Expecting a reply by tonight.

@anirudha1993 - plz let us know too :)

Ya sure !!

Interviews are still going on in India.

Harvard International Office.

Oh okay thanks! Damn, makes me nervous!

Anyone here who has received an interview offer from Harvard.

I received a very contradicting email from Harvard. First they say that they only offer interviews to applicants from whom they need further information.

Then they say that they do not need standardized test scores to offer interviews.

Here is the contradiction - Without standardized tests the application is incomplete and Harvard doesn’t review incomplete applications so how can they know if they need further information from a candidate or not without reviewing the application.

Strange reply !!! I am really confused on how does the international interview work after all.

Hi anirudha1993…look did u give ur SAT 1 scores?? What were ur scores???

I had my interview a couple of days back on the 3rd of feb. More focused and directed as compared to every other interview I’ve had.

I have not sent any score yet

@tastycles: what about you…??? What were ur SAT 1 scores???

Has anyone received an interview without a completed application ( Missing scores ).

Harvard says interviews are still on so what’s the last possible date to get an interview ?

For Harvard applicants from Delhi -
( An email I received from Harvard yesterday night.)

Due to lack of Harvard alumni in New Delhi, applicants would only be offered an interview if something extremely urgent needs to be confirmed. If we have any questions for you we will let you know.

By the way are there any candidates from Delhi who have been offered an interview this year.

2350 in SAT1, 800 in 3 SATII’s(P, C, MIIC).

I’m from Mumbai so the Delhi thing didn’t affect me obviously.

^^Those are crazy-awesome stats :D
