<p>I guess we’ll never know. But we can compare the acceptance rates of interviewees and non-interviewees, and that forcefully suggests that interviews, in fact, are selective. </p>

<p>Let’s not get into that much details, as far as I remember, there was no guy, but a gal from Kolkata and I guess most of them are head boys/gals, even Rishav is a headboy at GD Goenka. </p>

<p>If this would be “actually” helpful only if everyone who got interviews posted their stats because that would give future applicants an idea what “kind” of applicants get interviews. Or they’ll just think Harvard admissions as a lottery and apply to get “lucky” anyways. I think Harvard oversells their holistic admissions!</p>

<p>Means that kids ACTUALLY think they have a shot when they have nothing, the same kid would not overestimate his/her chances at schools like Yale or MIT. But at Harvard, he/she thinks that adcoms will definitely “see” something and admit him. Harvard’s admissions office advertises like a lottery agency, “All you need is $80 and a dream”</p>
