Thanks and ill try to chance back!!

Sorry to burst your bubble, but your ec’s and grades are considered weak for many of those colleges you list there. Plus, you’re only a sophomore, so you need to start working harder and joining more EC’s. Come back in about a year.

im a junior and i can still dream right?
:)

This kid is dreaming right? 1550 SAT and wants to get into Harvard?

I’ll give out predictions

UCLA Declined, unless you get your EC’s up

UPenn (EA or ED) rejected

UCB rejected

UCSD - rejected

UCI - Maybe accepted
6 UCSB -

Stanford -rejected

Rice - rejected

Duke - rejected
10 Wake Forest -rejected…maybe accepted

Cal Poly Pomona - Idk

Cornell- rejected

Dartmouth -rejected

BU or BC (im deciding) Accepted more than likely if you keep getting your grades up

USC - 50/50

Harvard - rejected

you sound like you’re a dreamer like me. (hey, nothing wrong with us for the most part haha)

you need some improvement because you’re nothing spectacular at the moment. find some other safety schools, and you definitely need to narrow down your list of reach schools. even if you aren’t getting your hopes up about them necessarily, it will still be upsetting if all your hard work only leads you to disappointment.

the fact that you’re mexican will actually help. continue to get good grades. retake the SAT and maybe even try the ACT. get 2000+ or 30+. Distinguish yourself. Find your passion. blah blah. and you could have a shot.

Your grades are average and not completely excellent. However, you do challenge yourself in many courses especially AP and you have gotten good grades in them so that is a plus. You do many activites which is another plus. Unfortunately, it’s still 50/50. You need to show what makes you stand out from the rest. For example, you are the son a fisher or you own a sock collection and you talk to them. Perhaps it is a bit bizarre but you sound average so mention something on your resume or in your essay that makes you unique. Fact: Students that get accepted in Harvard have a interesting background behind them.
I also don’t recommend choosing so many colleges to apply to. Narrow it done and save yourself the money on applications but its ok to aim high.

You’re right- you can dream. Keep a positive attitude and keep striving. Keep up the fantastic grades and work on your EC’s. Be sure to pick EC’s that stand out and correlate to what you want to major in. Don’t let others shoot you down. You may want to pick some schools that are less competitive. GL!:)

thanks! i never let negative stuff bring me down but i do try to keep it realistic. as i stated, im not applying to all these colleges, just seeing my chances. I KNOW MY SAT SCORE IS BAD! jeeez give me a break when i tell u that i am going to retake it and aim for a higher score so u dont have to mention that i have a bad SAT score and tell me im going to get rejected to every school. last practice test i took i got a 1710, so im improving. I still am working on my ECs, so that part is not done yet. i still need one more semester and i do these threads every semester to see my chances…
