Harvard Kennedy School Chances (MPP)

<p>Hey Everyone,</p>

<p>A few things changed since the last time I asked for help in determining my chances at the KSG. I was hoping you could re-assess my chances for getting into the MPP program at the KSG in this upcoming admissions cycle. </p>

<p>Undergrad:
UC Berkeley
Class of 2009
B.S. Environmental Policy
GPA: 3.9</p>

<p>GRE:
I haven't taken the GRE yet but I've been practicing. I'm scoring in the low-600s right now -- what do you think I need to get to be a strong candidate in the context of my holistic application? Would 620V/630Q cut it? </p>

<p>Work Experience: </p>

<p>The White House: Council on Environmental Quality (8 months by the time I apply)
Legislative Affairs Intern</p>

<p>Office of a San Jose Councilmember (1 Year by the time I apply)
Policy Analyst/ Speechwriter</p>

<p>Office of U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (6 months Post-College)
Legislative Intern
Worked on energy, environmental, and international narcotics issues. </p>

<p>Greenaction for Health and Environmental Justice (3 months in College)
Public Outreach Consultant</p>

<p>Fund For Public Interest Research (1 Year in College)
Field Manager / Campaign and Lobby Coordinator
Organized grassroots campaigns for different non-profit groups such as the Human Rights Campaign, CALPIRG, and Environment California. </p>

<p>Race: Indian-American
Recs: Should be pretty solid, but mainly for employers and not professors.</p>

<p>what GRE score do u need for kennedy school?</p>

Berkeley?
NYU?
Duke?</p>

<p>I need your help. I am an international student, my English is not my mother language. What do you think about my chance to be accepted by Harvard Kennedy Master of Public Policy. Despite my satisfying toefl, i could not get a cogent GRE verbal score but since i am not native, i hope the admission committe tolerate it with my toefl score… What do you think? My scores are below:</p>

<p>GPA:3.55
Toefl IBT: 107
GRE Verbal: 149 (440 in the old score system)
GRE Quantitative: 166 (800 in the old system)</p>
