Harvard Likely Letter

<p>Hey guys, I just got likely letters for Stanford and Yale (I'm thinking because I was recently named an intel finalist).
But, Harvard is my first choice and I was wondering what my chances are for getting in to Harvard. Does Harvard give likely letters/eventually admit intel finalists?</p>

Yes.

Does Harvard give likely letters/eventually admit all intel finalists?

No.</p>

<p>The fact that you got likely letters from Harvard’s two closest competitors means that you are an outstanding candidate, and chances are that Harvard thinks so, too. If you don’t get a likely letter from Harvard soon, all that means is that you may not be at the very top of Harvard’s list for whatever reason, and there’s a decent chance you won’t get in. (That there’s a decent chance you will get in is already established.) </p>

<p>Harvard, Yale, and Stanford don’t act in anything like lockstep, but they are all fundamentally looking for the same types of students, and there are plenty of people admitted to all three every year. If it happens that you don’t get admitted to all three, try not to whine about it too much. Most people would give their eye teeth (and maybe a kidney) to be admitted to any one of them, much less to have a choice between two, and most people would be right. </p>
