Does anybody which undergraduate schools have the highest acceptance rates into Harvard med? Or Yale, Stanford, JHU, etc med schools? If not, does anybody know of a database where this info is readily available.

Liberal Arts colleges, Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore, etc. do pretty well percentage wise although I can’t confirm how they do in terms of others.
But any data like that can be misleading; advising and rigor pull many out of the race, so those who do eventually apply are quite qualified.

If their acceptance is 90%, that doesn’t mean 90% of people who identify themselves as pre-med eventually go to med school or even to a top 20 for that matter.

If someone does get in to Harvard med, it isn’t the school, it’s the person.

Don’t pick an undergrad based on one med school.

^ I’m not just interested in Harvard med. I’m looking at all top med schools. However, for a single frame of reference, it is best to compare just one med school. Does that make sense?

Don’t choose an undergrad based on med school at all.

If you’re going to be a competitive candidate for a “top” medical school, it’s not going to be because of the name on your diploma.

You will do yourself well to listen to those who have already been there i.e. med students or grads like Bigredmed, bluedevilmike, and norcalguy among others, or those about to be there like kristen and hubbelgardner or a few of us parents of med students or recently admitted med students…

There is a lot of collective wisdom on this board…take advantage of it…while some other undergrads may mean well, if they haven’t been through the process yet they are only offering anecdotal advice/opinions and oftentimes aren’t always accurate.
