Harvard Medical School. What do you need to make it in there?!

Hey..

Its always been my dream to go to Harvard med! Now, i really wanna get serious about it and start working on it. Ill probably apply for it in like 2013.

Some background info, I just finished my A-Levels in Singapore and i am gonna go to a Uni in Singapore (National Uni of Spore) for a course in business admin. I got straight As for my A levels and my ONLY other academic achievement has been a silver medal in the open category of the Singapore Maths Olympiad.

and as far as sports are concerned, I've played club cricket in Singapore..
other than that i am a coach with one of Singapore's top life skills training company so i have quite a bit of experience in leading groups although small ones.

Haha. i Know this is kinda mediocre in front of a typical profile of a Harvard med applicant. but you know what! i am gonna be working for it for the next 4 years.

SO, i would really really wanna see maybe the profile of someone who got in Harvard med. tips and suggestions on how to work towards it are MOST MOST welcome.

Ill be really grateful for some awesome feedback. Thanks A TON!

a 3.8 and at least a 36 or so on the MCAT are probably the bare minimum requirements (I’d shoot for at least a 38 on the MCAT) - this is pretty hard to do (i’m sure you recognized that)

At WashU, a 3.8 and a 36 can get you in, and WashU is one of the top three med schools, along with Johns Hopkins and Harvard… so I’d assume that it’d be close to the same with harvard (and gpa and your mcat score are the two most important things for med school, I believe)

God, don’t bring this up now.

They had a 3% admit rate as of a few years ago. I don’t want to think of what it will be like when I’m applying.

I just want to get settled on an undergrad place and do really well there right now.
