Do I have an almost perfect curriculm to get into Harvard or MIT? (Im international)

Grades? And sorry – they are two of the hardest colleges to gain admission to in the world. Your odds are very, very low – the accepted applicants will have stronger and more interesting EC activities.

You have a very low chance of admission simply because you are an international student and they accept so few international students. Those that they do accept will likely have perfect scores (might try to raise that 700 lang), perfect grades, and absolutely spectacular I-cured-cancer-I-became-president type extracurriculars. If you really want to, it doesn’t hurt to apply, but know that your chances are <1%. Apply to many, many more safety and mid-reach schools.

Harvard and MIT are very popular schools that will obviously receive a large (but probably not a majority) amount of applications with no shot. Your stats will probably ensure that you have a higher chance than the international acceptance rate (1%) but not much higher if higher at all than the normal acceptance rate (5%).

I believe you have 0 chance at these schools. Your scores are good not great, and your ECs are not even close to what accepted applicants have. Also, you are an international applicant, and that makes it even harder.

Very encouraging response^

@paulinho Harvard and MIT are extremely difficult to get into as an international, and while your test scores are good, not much else really “shines.” I suggest that if you apply to Harvard and MIT, then you should also apply to less-selective schools, and ones that you can afford if admitted.

I’m just stating the truth.
