Harvard or Wharton

How does Wharton Undergrad compare with Harvard College ?

If we are looking at business only I am curious as to which school has the advantage.

Does one school have better placement to BB IB firms than the other ?

Does one school feed into private equity better ?

Does one school feed into hedge funds better ?

Does one school produce more management type folks while the other produces entrepreneurs ?

Are the students at both schools relatively academically equal ?

Discuss.

Wharton is better for all – but only marginally. (Others would argue negligibly.)

Does Harvard even have an undergraduate business program?

In the unlikely event that you get into both, go to the one that feels like a better fit. Honestly, who cares about the answers to the questions you asked? It’s friggin Wharton and Harvard, you can’t go wrong either way.

^lol well put

wharton = smart kids who know what they want
harvard = smart kids who don’t know what they want

which sounds better to you?

Wharton will place a bit better because employers will prefer kids who know what they are doing to kids who need to be taught to perform their tasks. However, the kids are of such high caliber that it doesn’t matter whether to teach or already knows because they will teach anyway.

Btw, Harvard doesn’t have an undergraduate program (your post doesn’t make it clear that you know that. If you do, please do not take offense)

Yeah, i know that. (No offense taken). My dad went to Harvard and worked in admissions in the 80s. I also know that though Harvard does not offer business courses you can cross register for courses at MIT and you don’t really need to take those courses if you are at Harvard anyhow - banks just want smart kids. I have submitted my Wharton ED app already i am just trying to determine whether i made the right decision because i think i stood a good shot at Harvard as well. I love Wharton of course otherwise i would not have EDed but i just want to see how they compare in terms of job placement.

you made the right decision. Any difference in prospects between the two schools is marginal so all you did was control your risk by applying ED. Your decision was both rational and prudent.
