Harvard Pre-College Program or MIT Launch 2016?

Hi everyone,
I am currently a junior entering senior year this fall. This summer I applied to Harvard’s Pre-College Program as well as to MIT Launch. I have been profoundly blessed in being accepted into both programs, however, I am now facing the dilemma of which program to choose. Harvard is my dream college, however, from what I am hearing, I do not feel that attending their pre-college program will do anything that will help me significantly to get into there. I am currently enrolled in their law and philosophy class. However, I am extremely interested in business as the subject to study in college. MIT Launch as you may or may not know is a full blown entrepreneurship program where high school students learn to run and create their own start-up. This is very intriguing to me as I have already started my own business that has afforded my own car and many other things in my life. So my main questions are

  1. Which program seems best for me?
  2. Will turning down Harvard hurt my chances of getting in there when I apply next fall.
  3. Will a program as prestigious as MIT Launch potentially help me get into more selective colleges?

Regardless I am almost certain I will choose MIT Launch but I would truly appreciate any and all opinions!
Thank you for your time and responses!

Any opinions

Seems like you haven’t gotten much of a response. I would definitely say the MIT Launch program. I, too, got accepted to it, and although I have something similar to you regarding the Pre-College Harvard Program, I still chose MIT Launch. In the end, the Harvard program will only give you insight and knowledge about a certain field or topic that definitely will carry on with you into the future. However, with MIT Launch, you will have the ability to create a startup with a multitude of bright, young minds that could possibly carry on even after the program. Although learning law and philosophy at Harvard guarantees a high level of education, they are topics that can be learned any time during your senior year, but obviously not at the same level as Harvard. It all comes down to the experience you will attain, and that is something that holds much more value to me in the long run. Hope that helped!
