Hey guys, sorry if there’s already an existing thread to Harvard’s Pre-college program here, I couldn’t find it.
I have some questions:
- I just discovered this program (literally) and I saw on their website that the entire application is due in May, but people who have already been accepted into the program can register for the courses they want. Being that I’m applying now, will there still be a good chance of being accepted?
- This program sounds really cool and awesome! If any of you have attended, what course did you take and what was your experience at Harvard like?
- Is there no essay for the application (seems so weird to me...)?? On the website it says that they need a counselor report, transcripts, and signed rules and regulations, but I don't see any mention of having to do an essay.
- My grades in freshmen year weren't that great (mostly As, 1 or 2 Bs), my sophomore year I got all As except for one B, and now my junior year, everything is kind of hectic. I'm not the type of person to talk about other people, but my english teacher is the kind of teacher that grades of favoritism. She's also really inconsistent with all her classes. Back in November, she gave our class a quiz near the end of the marking period and no other class a quiz and when I confronted my counselor, it was too late because the marking period had ended. Everyone else's grades (aside from the people in my class) are high 90s while mine are low 80s. How much do you think this will affect my overall application?
- I took the SAT in October for the first time, and I did pretty bad. I got a 1750 and am now going to take the ACT in April. When I took a practice ACT test, my scores were A LOT better. Do you think the 1750 score will reflect really really badly?
Sorry for so many questions… It would be highly appreciated if you help me out with them though! Thanks so much :]
