Harvard prestige vs. Harvard education

Which one would you choose if you can choose only one?

You attend Harvard (or other institution that you consider as the best) for four years, and you can do whatever (attend class, participate in clubs, read some books in library, etc.) you want, but you don’t receive a degree, diploma, recognition, and so on, and you have to sign the contract that you will not tell anyone about having attended Harvard (Otherwise you will be killed…:))

->simply, would you choose EDUCATION?

You cannot attend Harvard, but you will receive a diploma and degree from the college and you can tell all around that you graduated Harvard and they have official record of you.

->simply, would you choose PRESTIGE?

education.. in the real world no one really cares/knows what college you went to.

Um, yes they do. At least on your first job.

I mean, a 4.0 from Stanford has got to be better than a 3.0 from ITT Tech. Right?

okay, so i have a question. if you choose to attend harvard, will there be some record that you did attend college in general. i mean, what's the point of enjoying 4 years of harvard's education if you're unable to get a job afterwards because you have no college degree.

^ exactly what i said in that other identical thread

The whole point of going to college is to get a flippin degree...

Yes you can say ppl go to college for the college experience, to meet new ppl, to learn from nobel prized proffesors, etc.. but the main reason is to GET A DEGREE.

number 2 all the way.. hell yeah, so that means i can sit on my ass, game all day and still receive a harvard diploma with a 4.0?

Definitely number 2!

Harvard is a nice college experience, from what I hear, so I don't think it really matters if you take full advantage of it or not. Who doesn't want to work less?

To be honest though, Harvard is a label. People go to Harvard for the name- - - as many highly named or not so distinguished private schools. People don't pay extra for nothing. They want something out of it: education yes, prestige definitely.

Prestige.

I'm not enrolled in any of the Ivy's but from what I've been told from freinds and aquaintances, the hardest part about them is getting in. After that it's supposedly pretty easy, although that could be hearsay or because people in the Ivys are just so superior to us that they can coast in anything.

Presige....

blah :] .
