Harvard Prof. wins Nobel in Physics 2005

<p>Prof. Roy Glauber won (half) the Nobel Prize in Physics this year for his "contribution to the quantum theory of optical coherence."
Roy Glauber earned his BA/PhD from Harvard.</p>

<p>He shares the award with:
John L. Hall (1/4 prize) of the University of Colorado; BS/MS/PhD Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon U.); and
Theodore W. Hansch (1/4 prize) of the Max Planck Institute in Germany.</p>

<p>And he held his freshman seminar the day he got the news.</p>
