Well how many kids from your school apply? If… 100 apply then that would be about average considering Harvard has approx 8% acceptance rate. If 10 kids apply every year, then that’s pretty darn amazing!

And how many are legacies, URMs and athletes?

Is it typical? You do the math:

[Let me google that for you](http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=how+many+harvard+college+acceptances)

My calculator says there are 0.0745 Harvard admits per high school on average. That puts your “2” at about 27 times the national average. Oops. I forgot the internationals.

Hmm… time to put that Ivy-aspirant analytical ability to practice, eh?

What? 2% is approximately 8%?

Why do you assume the topic creator is an Ivy-aspirant? You also completely failed to account for how large his high school is. Additionally, it might be wiser to do it by total number of applicants to Harvard and not just total number of students.

that’s good, a lot of high schools don’t even have students who can get accepted into Harvard

puh-quer-er-erk-juh-juh-juh-qhuh-qhuh: Love your screenname! :)

some of the small, northeastern private schools (exeter, dalton, etc.) regularly put 10+ kids a year at Harvard O.o

Yeah, the good prep schools in the Northeast have a 20% + IVY League Matriculation.

My school had three girls get into Harvard last year, and we were ranked second in my state for Harvard acceptances after one of the top private schools! Of course … our state is like 41st in the country :|

well, i go to a public school; obviously, its not the same as a notheastern private school.
but i did find out that my school administers the most ap exams west of the mississippi, so i guess its good for not being in new england? (Plano Senior High School, if anybody was wondering.) Another thing I found out, 2 seniors got 2400’s so i guess my schools a bit more compeptitve than most.

T26E4, sadly, im not an ivy aspirant :[

Gadad, Thanks! :D

Red Roses, none of the are athletes/urms/legacies :P
