I want to apply to Harvard but I have a relatively low GPA, 3.57 and a low class rank, 24/282. My SATs are a 2240, and my Math 2- 780, Chem-680

Will it benefit me to retake the 680 chemistry SAT 2, because I am going to take the physics (since Harvard requires three) so I thought why not, since it doesn't cost much.

Also, does Harvard accept the January 26th SAT Date?

December is the last test date for everything

That's not correct information for Harvard. Harvard says that the first test date of the new year (which is February for the ACT) is timely for its new single-deadline admission cycle. (Harvard also notes that the February ACT test date is not available in all states.) The OP may as well take two SAT Subject Tests when he next takes tests, but of course we don't know how much that will help. It won't hurt, because Harvard considers an applicant's highest scores, test by test and section by section.

tokenadult, do you mind viewing my stats on another thread to tell me if retaking the 680 will do me any good at all? Also, I remember reading about the Harvard selection process, and the posters said the first line of elimination comes for people that just won't make it at all. Do you know what kind of stats would be included in the first wave of elimination?

Harvard's admissions process goes in waves, the first takes out the most obvious students who won't get in. What denotes an 'obviously not Harvard worthy?'

a low gpa, a low class rank, and no hook usually deems you unHarvard worthy. Harvard is an awesome school and it knows that it is. Thus, there is really no sure way to be deemed 'worthy.' Harvard can fill its incoming class with whatever statistics they want. Every kid could be 1600, 4.0, 800 800 800 sat 2 tests... but that's not what they want. So just do your best.

If i were you, I would DEFINATELY take chem again. (Ivy's love to see 700s) and do sat I's again too if possible. what is your individual score. Writing isn't looked on as favorable as math and verbal.
