Harvard RD 2014 Thread

yeah honestly, I think the whole “expect the worst hope for the best” mentality is good when applying to any of the top tier schools XP

can it just be spring already? i just wanna know lol

I know! Same here!

So, is Harvard your top choice?

EDIT: ‘your’ as in any of you

@ darkblademaster: Me?

Any of you.

It is one of my top choices, definitely…however, I am scared about the financial aspect of it all -_-…

also one of my top choices. how do you turn down harvard?

I agree with you fishface but there are people that do turn it down. I think getting accepted to an Ivy is a blessing in itself…but Harvard? Really?! Well, we will see in April though :-).

Officially Harvard would be my top choice, but because I have a .08% chance of getting in, I am not raising my hopes. My more realistic top choices (yet still somewhat reaches because all Ivies/top 15 schools are a crapshoot) are UPenn and Georgetown.

Awww jokesbg779, I bet your stats are A-MA-ZING! Everyone has a shot. I don’t think your chances are THAT low!

Haha, if youre worried about the financial situation, you have come to the right place. Harvard is the most affordable college in the country thanks to their insane FA

Thanks for the encouragement, Xargon42 :-). The waiting game is not making me a happy camper right now lol.

Xargon42! It’s nice to see your face (username) again from Stanford.

Harvard probably is one of my top choices, though I can’t say it’s the top. I would really have to evaluate the difference between Harvard/MIT/Yale/Duke.

I have not allowed myself to get my heart set on any of the schools I’m applying to, seeing as how half of them are Ivy league. It’s all a crapshoot, and I realize that, so hopefully I won’t be too devastated when I don’t get in, haha.

That said, who turns down Harvard?

20% of applicants turn down Harvard each year. That was an answer to your rhetorical question :)

But true, where do you guys think the people who rejected Harvard went?

YSP most likely.

I really am kind of counting on getting rejected by at least several of the schools I’m applying do. I am such a bad decision maker, I can’t even decide what I want for dinner tonight. I don’t know how I would ever choose between Harvard, Yale, Brown, etc, haha!

20% is such a huge percentage though. I mean, I know it’s not in the realm of college, but 1/5 people accepted to Harvard would rather go somewhere else? Eh, I guess I would have chosen S over H.

Harvard is basically my top choice :).

awww. harvard is my second choice.

several of my friends and i were deferred and rejected from Stanford EA so now, we are going after harvard.

go harvard!

damn, i see alot of familiar names here.
