Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

@asiankid88 Ah, thanks, are you from china? I am thinking that the 88 is unlikely to stand for ur year of birth, more likely 88 as in the chinese lucky numbers.

Isn’t ivy day March 29? That’s what it was last year

@Desiree2 I’m actually from Taiwan! Haha, the 88 has a pretty err not so symbolic meaning. I was doing my math hw while i was creating this account and 88 was the answer to the question i was working on!

I know that Dartmouth is April 1st since their website says early April. That means that not all schools will release their decisions in the same day but probably just 1 day apart

@hola1997 I’m pretty sure it’s on the 31st. It’ll be april 1st in asia though

@asiankid88 : really? I thought the website for all Ivies display the time and date in Eastern Time zone no?

How many of us have toured Harvard? Why and when? #2020

@intellectboy : I toured Harvard 6 times (3 officials and 3 unofficials - led by a professor that I knew and by a friend). Everytime, I toured, I always found something new to learn and enjoy about Harvard that solidified my decision to love the school and apply there (besides the Financial Aid of course :stuck_out_tongue: ). My first tour of the school was back in November of my Sophomore year and fell in love with it. The subsequent tours were on Summer school, and everytime that I am in Boston.

@hola1997 That’s pretty cool. For internationals with mid-low income, it is technically impossible for me to tour Harvard. Although, I made use of Virtual Tours around 12-15 times, and last time I went to US was when I was 6 (not thinking of applying Harvard so early!), so in all I never got a chance to visit my dream school. I hope to attend VISITAS for all admitted students this April. Hope to see you soon

Do every admitted international student gets an Interview?

@intellectboy : I am also an international student  and I hope to see you soon as well! According to the anecdotes on this forum, then I suppose admitted internationals do get interviewed, but there are of courses cases which some get accepted without having an interview.

Did you have one? Which country you belong to? Don’t worry I wont ask for your stats, I consider them baseless to post here for vanity and ask for chances when non of us can do any good or harm each other’s chances of acceptance

@intellectboy : I had an interview but that was because I am studying at a US Highschool, which means that there are more regional alumni interviewers. I am from Vietnam by the way.

@Desiree2 @asiankid88 Haha, I just realized that the number in my username, 331, is the date for Ivy Day. Don’t know if it means anything… :stuck_out_tongue:

Good luck guys!

@hola1997 The Ivies release at the same time, so a release on March 31 in the US Eastern Time will be April 1 in Asia since they are several hours ahead of us.

@azwu331 : So they lied to me because of misleading information on website gasp

@azwu331 LOLL idk, could be a sign!! xD Fingers crossed.

YOU GUYS IT IS DECISION MONTH.

30 more days lad! 30 days!
