@PartyNextDoor - Thank you.

Congrats!!! @kelsey9874

I’m curious. Does anyone think it’s too late for me to upload still images and videos of some of my stage performances? I referenced the acting throughout my application and in an essay. One of my teacher letters also cited the performances and I also showed my alumni interviewer my acting portfolio.

Jesus that’s a lot of money on apps!

Thank goodness I qualified for the Common App fee waiver!

@schroscat I have applied to quite a few universities via common app (none in which I think I would be able to get into), and being an international applicant, I didn’t qualify for the waiver, (except for Rice University and University of Chicago, which gave me fee waivers :stuck_out_tongue: ), so it was surely heavy on my dad’s purse…Hopefully, by some miracle, I get into some good universities (of course with some good amount of financial aid), so that at least I can repay his trust in me xD

@blazedragon Oh, gosh, I hope it works out for you. I cannot imagine shelling out $70 each time I send my soul to those colleges.

@schroscat Yeah, I certainly hope so. xD It definitely felt like parts of my soul were going away to each college, especially due to the fact that the Indian currency is so weak against the dollar. But let’s see. Hoping for the best. :slight_smile:
Wait…did I sound like Voldemort now? xD

@blazedragon Each college has a horcrux (is that how you spell it? I’ve had three hours of sleep; I can’t speak English anymore) of your being. A rejection destroys it…so it’s in their best interest to preserve your soul!

I applied to 18 schools without any fee waiver…jesus…the price just sky-rocketed. Coupled with CSS, ISFAA, SAT submission and other fees. I guess that’s how colleges make money…sigh…I hope it was worth applying that much…

I qualified for a fee waiver too, or I would never have been able to afford to apply to 12 schools. However, since I’m an independent student (i.e. Not at all financially connected to my parents) I didn’t qualify for a CSS waiver. Because that policy makes sense. (Note the scathing sarcasm)

I have a question to ask you guys, just want some general feedback on what the admissions committee would probably think. I’m from the UK and my parents divorced while i was preparing for the SAT (Jan 2016), and for financial reasons, I’ve had to save all my own money for these apps. Since I got a 2020 for that SAT, I sent a letter to all my colleges I applied to (since I got into LSE I literally went all ivies and Duke and Stanford haha, may as well) basically explaining that the apps would be close to deadlines as I’d have to wait till payday and that my parents’ separation could be considered in context with my poor SAT score (oh also mentioned I’m self taught).

Sorry for the long message- but do you think that the email is extraneous, or helpful, or is there anything I’m missing? I sent them directly to the admissions email for each school.
Thanks

I applied to 20 schools on the common app all with fee waivers

I applied to 7 lol

16 with no waivers lol oops

I shed a tear when the CSS didn’t give me a fee waiver. My mom’s weekly salary went toward applying for financial aid…what is life???

Idk. I somehow got a fee waiver with my dad making $71K.
