Why did everyone choose to apply to Harvard?
Because why not?
Because their supplement essay was optional and I just took something I wrote for another school and copied pasted it there lol (srsly like that’s my reason)

I’m one of the 97% in nearly everything, so why not this haha
Although it is sort of a comfort that there is one girl I know of at my school that applied on a whim and submitted only a 24 ACT, no SATIIs, and no additional essay. So I have company.
I applied because…it’s Harvard. But besides that, my mum wanted me to even though I wasn’t looking at any Ivies. Subsequently I decided to do a crapshoot and apply to 3. Also, my school has a program where Harvard students come to our school and teach and shit for a few months. I kind of liked the new batch of Harvard interns and they really sold the idea of Harvard to me. My scores are shit. My grades are shit. I’m the living embodiment of excrement. This is the epitome of a crapshoot

@MijoChbulkan Um well, she’s white. And upper middle-class. My point was that she didn’t fulfill all of the requirements. But there are a few people applying to the same Ivies as I am, and if some of them get in and I don’t… For some especially, I wish they could just see students in action, you know? This girl and I both applied to Brown. But during an English class discussion - we’re completely different people. She sits in the corner with her earbuds in.

Fun fact: the origin of the word ‘crapshoot’ isn’t actually explicit at all. It comes from the game of craps.

Deferred from EA, but got much better stats now. Regret doing EA with the stats I had; but WUSTL acceptance with scholarship so at least I have my backup to the Ivies.
So far rejected from JHU and waitlisted from Tulane and Boston College, so I don’t really know what to expect.
Supplement essay? Bah, I just gave them a list of the books I’ve read.
@MijoChbulkan No it definitely did, it just irritates me because I don’t like this particular person. She stopped talking to me last December because I don’t support a specific presidential candidate that she does.
But, moving on.
I’m not sure where I’m at in all of this. I didn’t apply EA anywhere besides NEU and UVA because my grades dropped 6th semester. But they’re back up now, so I’m really hoping they take a look at my mid year…
I applied because, all criticisms aside, Harvard is one of the greatest liberal arts institutions.
Plus, it’s Haah-vad!
