Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

@MijoChbulkan yeah i noticed the majority of EA applicants get deferred. but what i was wondering was whether they actually do reconsider the deferred applicants as they look through the RD students, or whether the deferred are at a disadvantange

@leobabytiger from what I’ve seen, they just become equivalent to a normal RD applicant

So still no notification email right about decisions? I know it comes out March 31st at 5pm, but has anyone received the email?

I haven’t yet

I’ve gotten nothing. I’ve gotten emails from Brown, Princeton, Dartmouth, and Penn. Harvard and Yale are the only Ivies yet to send anything (at least for me)

My guess is that they will send it by tomorrow or they will just said nothing and then notify you at 5 P.M on March 31st. :stuck_out_tongue: They’ll be like “Surprise!!!” (when in reality, it is totally not that surprising) XD

Gets down on one knee Oh Harvard, I’d turn down Stanford and MIT for you!

car passes, splashing water all over me

@Anonymoose3 Oh you poor soul, accepted into Stanford and MIT and possibly not Harvard!! How will you go on with yourself, how will you live the rest of your life?!

C’mon not all of us have the luxury or luck to be accepted into 2 of the best schools in the world. I really think its insincere of you to write a comment like this when 80% of the whole forum is on edge and face the reality of being rejected from every Ivy.

@RoadtotheIvies, Sorry it was meant to be facetious/a joke. I don’t think that translates too well over text though.

Hey guys! I have a question for you. I’m an international applicant from a very underrepresented country at Harvard, and currently the only people from my country at Harvard are three members of the class of 2016 who all happened to graduate the same high school I attend. Do you think the fact that we’re from the same high school (most prestigious in my country) gives me any advantage over other students from other schools in my country?

*I’m emphasing class of 2016 because next year Harvard won’t have any representation from my country other than the ones from the class of 2020

And do you think it is somewhat an obligation for them to at least accept one person from my country so that they wouldn’t lose any representation?

@Anonymoose3 It’s ok haha, I would be glad to take that Stanford spot when you’re accepted to Harvard :smiley:

No

@Roadtotheivies98 - In the unlikely event I get in, you can have it!

3 days! ahh! Just happen already. The anticipation is killing me. I just want closure.

@Bluebrry

Does your friend currently attend JHU?

Wait so does the decisions come out on the 1st of April or the 31st of March?

@pandalover98

31st of March, 5 PM EST

Thanks @MohTamer ! Am I the only one that doesn’t open up decisions from colleges right away. Like I have to mentally prepare myself for it for hours, which kinda sounds pathetic but eh

Also, how do you guys know that Harvard releases admission statuses on the 31st? Was there an email or…?

It’s an agreement between ivy league schools
