Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

@pandalover98

It’s completely fine!

I for one would rather have a great atmosphere than just open the results.

For Ivy Day, I’ll gather my family, get a box with folded papers, each having an Ivy Logo on it.

We’ll shake the box, with drumrolls playing, open the paper, see the logo, then see the decision.

Sadly, we’ll have to wait till 5:30 PM EST because of Brown’s decision to split decisions between 5 and 5:30.

Oh, and all the Ivy League agreed to release results together on 31st of March, 5 PM EST.

@Anonymoose3 Give me Stanford pleaseeeee

I’d trade all the antlers in the world for it.

Anyone here submit a music supplement??

@Wendelstein : Me. I submitted two classical oral pieces (one Italian and the other one German)

Hey… I think you all guys should watch this great movie “Acceptance” which is solely based on acceptance to Ivies. I am damn sure you are gonna like it. (I saw it months ago!)

@intellectboy i actually saw this a while ago too!! it was super interesting and i highly recommend it, especially right now

@intellectboy I’ve seen that film a while ago, it’s good and scary haha

I love that movie!!

@archaeologygirl Afterall, we all are anticipating our results in near future… :smiley:

Admission is another good one to watch!

@hola1997 Oh cool! By classical oral pieces do you mean like vocal singing works or like spoken poetry type of thing?.. Sorry I’m a bit clueless when it comes to oral stuff. I submitted a clarinet recording

@Wendelstein : Both of my pieces were opera singing. I love the clarinet as well though I don’t know how to play it. I can only play the piano

@pandalover98 No same! right before an acceptance letter I literally mentally prepare myself because rejection is real and absolutely gut wrenching. :frowning:

the only email i got was i the beginning for application received, is that a bad sign, anyone else? I feel as if they just basically threw away my application and forgot about me

So my mom has this UPS MyChoice thing. Does Harvard typically send out acceptance stuff before decisions are released online like WashU? I am not remotely expecting even a waitlist, but it makes me uncomfortable knowing that she could know before me, or even if she sees that nothing is coming before I find out that I am rejected/waitlisted

@TheWaffleMan149 Don’t quote me on this, but I THINK that Harvard uses USPS to send the acceptance stuff. I know that they use UPS for international applicants, though, so if you’re international then yeah, she’ll know. But also, I don’t think Harvard mails the stuff out until the day or the day after acceptances go out in the portal.

@FiveFactorial Not on decision day? Great! Thanks! And I am a US applicant, so I guess it will be USPS. I have gotten really paranoid because of the whole WashU thing with sending out packages earlier on decision day, through UPS, and being able to see if you had a package coming from them before decisions came out. This applies to Yale and Princeton too btw o_O

@TheWaffleMan149 Where did you find out that it was true for Princeton and Yale?

@FiveFactorial I meant my question also applies to Y and P! :slight_smile:

Unfortunately, that’s false: http://www.boston.com/news/education/2015/12/11/harvard-accepts-record-low-percentage-of-early-applicants
