Harvard RD- Post Decisions/Stats HERE

i'm just speculating here. do you think 1400-1500 sat scores are actually more appealing than 1500+? it seems like they might add a certain spice to the application. like, "ooh, what's this guy's story?"

Hopefully there are some spots left over after those that were admitted accept. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a spot for me!! hmm...makes me wish that I'd taken the SATI again, and raised my SAT II scores...I also wonder how the music that I sent in and the interview influenced this decision...Finally, I hope I was not put on the waitlist just to "soften" an imminent rejecion.

Good luck and congrats to Acceptees

Counselor Rec: Very good.

Gender: Male

major strength/weakness: SAT I/GPA

why you think you were accepted/rejected/deferred: There were just sooo many applicants. Also, I just figured out today that it's very possible that none of my schools received my newest SAT score because my collegeboard account randomly decided at some point to spell my name wrong. So it's possible that either they used my 30 ACT, or my earlier 1430. Oh well, I don't really care. I would have turned them down anyway.

It's interesting. I finally become a member....with a rejection post.

nm. For some reason I thought 100 posts made you a member.

Decision: Accepted

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT:1500, 710M, 790V
[] SAT IIs: 800, 780, 780, 770
[] GPA: 4.4/4.5 UW ~ 4.0/4.0 UW because my school is weird
[] Rank:1/94
[] Other stats: AP Euro 5, IB Phys SL 6, IB Math SL 7
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: GC and english teachers loved it, but I didn't really see what was so good about it
[] Teacher Recs: never read them, should be good to excellent, don't think it was outstanding... well, one teacher really liked me for some reason, my french teacher thought I had a gift for the languages, another teacher was so-so, another teacher had another student who definitely was smarter than me (and this is physics, so being smart counts)... I don't know how many of these my gc decided to send
[] Counselor Rec: never read them, but she did say i have one of the best applications from our school, ever
[] Hook (if any):Nothing at all!
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country:New York
[] School Type:Public
[] Ethnicity:Asian
[] Gender:Female
[] major strength/weakness:Nothing, really. Well-rounded student.
[li] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered:Still trying to figure it out. I dont' know of this is a faux pas or anything, but I seriously want to call up the admissions office and ask them WHY I got in. [/li][/ul]Other Factors: Full IB candidate, got requested for a 2nd interview, which was done at my home, sent in an art supplement that was not that outstanding, won AFS Awards for Excellence in March and sent in a letter last Tuesday saying that I won it (late, I know). I really have no freaking clue why I got in. Oh, also, I only have local leadership (leader in 2 school clubs). No national awards, but I swept the school awards each year, and I sent in a list of that. I just don't know!!! I was a good applicant, but not oustanding in any way! I still don't get it. I guess it was just a lot of little things that added up.
