Harvard rejects, where you going?

Well, I got rejected by Harvard.. I got accepted at Vandy, Berkeley, UCLA, Yale, UPenn, and Brown... but i will end up going to Berkeley.. yay..

So to my fellow rejects, where are you guys going this fall?

Why are you going to Berkeley instead of Yale?

(Just curious)

As for me, I’m probably headed to Cornell

UChicago :)

CAL for me too. I’ll see you there!

been rejected by everyone (all ivies except for brown), duke, yale, :), waitlisted hopkins,
totally destroyed :(

I had above the 75% stats: 4.0UW 5.something W 2280 SAT, not asian, passionate extracurriculars, advanced courses at local state college (think orgo, diff eq, other science and math), research job, community service helping tutor college students in science and math, still involved with boy scouts even though I’m an Eagle Scout, played piano, mensa member (I’m sure no one likes this, but I just like to read the magazine), black-belt, no national awards, though. Essay was full of personality (guess that was why I wasn’t admitted to a science major) ;). I’m really upset and devastated and upset and bipolar :frowning: I probably wasnt’ admitted because I’m a) white, b) catholic, c) not jewish, d) intelligent, e) conceited and bitter (you were probably thinking this one, right?), f) not traditional student (but I am in high school)

Neonseri, thanks for opening up a spot for a waitlisted person such as myself! Best of luck at Berkeley.

I got rejected by Harvard and Yale, but whatever.

I’m going to either Boston University or the University of Pittsburgh. Honestly, either of those is better for me as they’re A LOT cheaper than Harvard or Yale would have been.

Also, mathsciencedude, that doesn’t make sense (in that, I don’t know how that happened to you)…regardless, you’re still epic and hilarious!

I hate New Haven, CT. I am not in love with Yale at all.
Also, I love the Berkeley area. And it wont be that far from my hometown of Los Angeles… in addition, I would have more opportunities in berkeley to intern and work for a fortune 500 company because of Berkeley’s proximity to the Silicon Valley.

No problem :D

Thanks, and congratulations on your acceptances to BU and Pitt
I will miss all of you guys.

You may not know me, but I know you!
I am, after all, a CC lurker, but no more I think. I didn’t play the admissions game of catering to Harvard. I did what I enjoyed. Unfortunately, colleges really do want you to do what they want you to do, whether you enjoy it or not. :/

I got into U of C EA so I only applied to super reaches and got rejected from most: harvard, princeton, cornell, georgetown, amherst, but then got waitlisted at UPenn and Duke
only accepted to U of C and BC and I guess i HAVE to go to U of C and SO NOT excited about it.

Hopefully the wait lists work out but its slim
i am going to work on my transfer app from the moment I step in Chicago.
I feel the same as mathsciencedude, although I wasn’t as amazing as him in terms of stats, I was in the top 10% and my ECs were amazing and by far exceeded any of those on the accepted thread. But I guess in terms of the super schools, you reallyy need the numbers and not just personality, ECs, strong essays. I was hoping I could compensate

I’ll be at either Carnegie Mellon or Trinity College next year. ;] It was worth a try anyways, guys…And we all seem to have wonderful backups. I’m glad we all pulled through–and for those who didn’t, your time is coming, too.

*And neonseri, just want to add that I think you’re going to college for the right reasons. So glad you got into Berkeley and I hope you enjoy it to the fullest. ;] You’ll be makin’ millions in no time.

Got rejected from harvard but still happy caltech class of 2014!

^congrats on cal tech

Princeton.

probably Northwestern. or Princeton if I can clear the waitlist (low chances)

University of Washington, most likely. Not betting too much chances on the Dartmouth waitlist :P

Stanford woot!

Haha neoseri, I’m exactly the opposite!! I like the Berkeley campus to stay there and visit for a few days, but I would DIE if I had to go to school for four years there (something in the vibe just didn’t click with me). :stuck_out_tongue: Funny how people are so different!

harvardrejects.org

Brown or Amherst!!

Waitlisted at Stanford but I wasn’t feelin the vibes there anyway
