Harvard Resume?

so i have already sent my application to Harvard.I was just wondering can I upload a resume to my status portal since i want to further explain my extracurriculars.Would it be a good idea ?harvard says this:

Though not required or expected, we understand that some applicants may wish to submit additional supplementary materials such as documents, awards, updates, images, music, or videos. These materials can be submitted through the Materials Uploader in the Status Portal or through Slideroom up to and after the application deadline(s).

Read very carefully. Notice a resume is not one of these things Harvard mentioned as supplementary materials! Colleges do not want resumes as they tend to be duplicative of the extracurricular activities and honors/awards sections of the Common Application. In fact, that’s’ one of the reasons why the Common App no longer allows students to upload documents, as too many students were uploading resumes.

You should create a one-page resume though to bring with you on your college interviews in case you are asked for one. Here’s a sample: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1667731-college-interviews-resume-vs-activities-list-p2.html

thanks @gibby i have one more question
I am planning to study German Language and Literature and i chose Social Sciences as my preffered concentration in commonapp. But i guess i should have chosen Humanities instead ?should i email them about this mistake?

All students apply to Harvard as Liberal Arts Majors and choose a major during their sophomore year. Admissions asks about your “intended major” to gauge your interests, but as more than 60% of students in the United States change their major at least once during their 4 years of college, Admissions cannot use the data as a recruiting tool, as the majority of students graduate with a different major then the one they wrote down on the Common Application.

So, it doesn’t matter what you write down on the Common Application, and I would NOT update Admissions about “your mistake.”
