Hey I was just wondering,
Harvard recently reinstated their ROTC program, so I would expect them to be wanting more ROTC cadets on their campus. If I indicated that i'm quite certain in joining ROTC in college, would this increase my chances of acceptance? I'm currently in Junior ROTC in high school, and have basically reached the highest possible rankings and awards. My grades and resume are not exactly Harvard-level, but I just got accepted to Boston College EA so it can't be that bad. Please enlighten me on this topic !!

“I would expect them to be wanting more ROTC cadets on their campus” Not necessarily. You’re assuming the normal applicant pool won’t have many who pursue ROTC.

I think it’s noteworthy and will make you perhaps more unique than others – include your intention – but don’t expect some monster boost because of it.

" My grades and resume are not exactly Harvard-level, but I just got accepted to Boston College EA" Well, what is your GPA and whatnot? You understand H has about a 6% admit rate, right?
