@aharper98 Where did you visit in Turkey?
@trainguy1 ooh, I don’t think that would be a problem anyway Did you apply to Harvard EA or Penn ED?
@schroscat Kayseri (Don’t think I spelled that right), Istanbul, and Ankara! I really enjoyed Kayseri. The mountain. But of course Istanbul was incredible.
haha omg the UPenn people made me smile. For me I’m going to go home and listen to Mad World on my laptop in a dark room while my dog is next to me to soak up my tears (I’m basically just accepting the fact that I will be rejected because it will be an easier blow to take lol). And avoid this thread when all you successful people make it. :((
@trainguy1 Welcome aboard! Regardless of where it ends up, I’m sure the admission officers will see it
@trainguy1 what did yours exaclty consist of? And did you upload a cover letter?
Anyone submit a violin supplement? lol. Probably a longshot
Oh my God, I leave for like three hours and y’all have already like written another, like, 10 pages. Great job reviving the thread
I’m a white, middle-class female from the South, so I don’t think I have any bonus points there either… I submitted an arts supplement for my piano which was decent, I think?
Honestly, I’m going to cry no matter what I get on December 10th/11th so… I think I’ll just hide in my room and sob there.
@aharper98 Kayseri is such a lovely part of Turkey! My mother lived there for a few years with her brother; she loved it there. I went to İstanbul two years ago and it was a breathtaking experience. If you were to ever to Turkey again, I highly recommend going to the Peri Bacaları (Cappadocia). It’s an ancient site where Christians sought refuge during persecution. The geography is consisted of soft rock; they used it to their advantage and carved their safe houses and churches. I had the opportunity to explore an underground city than went several stories down and was accessible via the floorboards of an old church. The area absolutely blew my mind.
I’m a half Asian, half white, middle-class male from the South, so no affirmative action points here either.
Yes @Stephiey, agree 100%! There will be so many tears on the decision date and it’ll be just wow
Senioritis kicking in since I’m procrastinating on AP Bio homework… anyone’s teacher make them do POGIL packets?
@james1998iq I sent in a flute supplement, so I would infer we’re (sort of) on the same boat when it comes to music supplements.
@redrabbit23 The senioritis has definitely set in for me. Which is why I need to get in NOW before my mid-year grades are sent LOL. No POGIL packets here for my AP Bio class, BUT I do have a bunch of readings for AP Lang (we take AP Lang senior year and AP Lit junior year), so ugh
@redrabbit23 I TOOK IT LAST YEAR AND POGIL WAS THE DEVIL!! Ugh so tedious and unnecessary. Ugh. What are you studying now?
@redrabbit23 ughh, AP English essay. Didn’t even start yet…
@tuty143 I completely agree! My teacher grades ours for accuracy too so I can’t BS them too much
@tuty143 @redrabbit23 What is this pogil? I’m in AP Bio right now, and I’ve never been exposed to such a thing.
I made the slightly-regrettable decision to take 5 AP’s this year, so I have NO time to procrastinate/senioritis-ate. cries
@trainguy1 Not required-- just did it because I thought it might provide some clarification.
@Sajidur4 Same! We have these mini essays called “one pagers” (there actually two pages lol for AP lit and I haven’t even looked at the prompt yet!
@RandomRhino SAME hahaha that’s probably the biggest secondary reason of why I want to get in so I don’t have to worry about grades anymore!!
@schroscat I loved Cappadocia. I talked about the trip alot via Rec letters.
