I know that at Harvard extracurricular activities often rival and surpass academics in time commitment because this is the general focus of the students. But do students tend to join a whole bunch of clubs that require only a couple hours a week or do most students join just a few and get really involved? I understand that there is some of both, but what do most students tend to do?

As a freshman, I think most people tend to join a bunch of stuff. By junior/senior year, I think most people have found the one or two activities they really care about and put most of their time into them.
