Harvard Students: It's Awesome Here

Just thought all you people out there in computerland would like to see FM's (that's the Crimson's weekend mag) correct its earlier story (from 2 years ago) asking if we all should have just gone to Yale. Go and look at today's cover, "Loving Harvard: 15 Reasons Why We All Should Stay."

http://www.thecrimson.com/magazine.aspx

Oh, btw, I'm a freshman here right now, so if you guys have a few questions, I might come back on at a later, arbitrary time and answer some of them. But I do have things to do, so I won't be spending too much time on it (sorry).

Can you smuggle us in? ;)

yeah, i dont want to think about choosing unless i have an acceptance letter in my hand, or in a shrine in my closet lol.

patches great to hear your enjoying it there!

.. did you apply EA? what kind of ECs did you have?
lol.. sorry for turning this into a stats thread

As an incurable copyeditor, the first thing I notice is...

http://www.thecrimson.com/article.aspx?ref=509907

THEY MISSPELLED "AMATEUR".

I'm sorry. I can't help it. I'll read the rest now... :)

oh jeez you're right

thisyearsgirl-I'm not sure what you mean. In the story you linked (as well as the print edition I'm holding in my hand), The Crimson spells it "amateur" which is correct (see http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/amature ). I thought "amature" might be an okay alternate spelling, but according to a variety of sources, it isn't.

The headline on the page I linked to reads "amatuer".

I'm just nitpicking.

You're right. I'm a goof. And I pasted the wrong link. Nice copyediting.

For anyone looking for the actual definition of amateur http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/amateur

Yeah I saw that too. I was wondering whether it was intentional.
