<p>The greatest concern to be overcome, ironically, was not the ability to find academic programs of interest, but students not wanting to interrupt extracurricular "careers". Some wondered how you pick up where you left off as you worked your way up the ladder at the Harvard Crimson, or whether taking a year off from soccer would cost you a roster spot.</p>
<p>This concern has been addressed, and alleviated somewhat.</p>
<p>One model for how to deal with people taking off for a semester without losing "status" in their ECs is the way Dartmouth students (and EC programs) have adjusted to the tri-mester plan.</p>
<p>Thats great. Byerly do you know of the foreign exchange programs available at harvard?</p>
<p>At pretty much any other college/uni, I would be planning to study abroad during at least one semester... but at H... I'm not really sure that I will. I want to spend 4 years in Cambridge!</p>
<p>That said, they do have quite appealing programs in Chile and Argentina. And many other approved programs.</p>
