Harvard Summer Program?

Hey there,
I'm already in college, and I'm wondering if the Harvard Summer Programs are worth looking into. For their price, they cover what appears to be pretty introductory material. I'm looking at the linguistics and computer science programs, but took a look at some of their mathematics courses too.

They do offer college credit for the courses you take during your summer there, but there's no selectivity involved for the vast majority of them.

A friend said these were often cash grabs and functioned as marketing for the school to get people to apply later. It looks tempting, but I'm not sure if this would be a worthwhile investment.

Thoughts?

Doing anything other than sitting home watching TV is REAAALLy good. Especially if you’re earning college credit at a school that’s hard to beat. Compared to the college itself, their programs aren’t usually as competitive. I’d honestly consider it, you’ll make some new friends, learn a few things, and boost up your college resume somehow!
