<p>I know that the harvard supplemental essay is “optional” but there is a list of possible topics that look like this:</p>
<p>Unusual circumstances in your life
Travel or living experiences or other countries
Books that have affected you the most
An academic experience (course, project, paper, or research topic) that has meant the most to you
A list of the books you have read during the past twelve months </p>
<p>Are these topics the only ones you may choose to write about or are they given just as examples to contemplate? Basically, can you choose your own topic again like in the common app?</p>
