Harvard Supplemental Essay

Hi all!

I’m currently working on my application essays, and out of the prompts Harvard supplies, one I’m interested in is the prompt that asks for a book list. I love to read from a variety of genres and topics (mostly YA, MG, classics, and adult nonfiction) in my free time, and so, I think this would only provide more insight into my application!

My only question was that because I read 100-150 books a year, would it be advisable to send a list of all 100+ titles? Or instead, should I narrow it down to my favorites from the past 12 months and write a short sentence about them each? Many thanks in advance for your advice!

First off, 100 to 150 books is way too many to list. In addition, it’s honestly a bit unbelievable. I would trim the list down to about 15 to 20 books (30 books tops) so that Admissions can learn something about you from what you choose to read.
