Harvard Transfer Chances

Hey All, I'm a current undergraduate student at the University of Southern California and am thinking about taking a year off and transferring because I do not feel challenged at my current campus. I'm finishing my freshman year with a 3.9, am active in an on campus job, a competitive improv troupe, the campus radio station, and a few other clubs. I had a 4.3 weighted gpa in highschool, where I graduated top ten out of over four-hundred, and was very active in everything from band to student government. I got perfect scores on both the SAT and ACT. I did not apply last fall, but as I was researching possibilities for transfer schools this year I stumbled upon Harvard's concentration in Romance Languages and Literature, which I would very much like to pursue. Do you think that admissions would find this to be a compelling enough "why harvard?" reason? Is there any chance at all I'd be able to get in as a transfer student? Thanks in advance for the help!

You do realize what you’re up against: <a href=“The Real 1%: Harvard Admits 15 Transfer Students | News | The Harvard Crimson”>http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2012/6/21/transfer-admissions-one-percent.

If your current college does not offer the concentration you are interested in, that is a bonafide reason for seeking the transfer. However the admission chances are miniscule for everyone.

Are you sure USC does not have Romance Languages and Literature as majors, labeled differently?
