I definitely wasn’t lying about the interview. I had it last Saturday with a bona-fide Harvard alum.

same here on the interview. griffinmyers do you live/go to school in the boston area?

Nope. I’m out west.

Yes, they definitely said around May 15th would be when they release the decisions. The 2014s have to commit by May 1st, and so they should determine the number of spots they have available soon after that.

Yes, Let’s make this happen!!!111111

Hey all,
I applied as well, and set up an interview for today!
Best of luck to all!

Hey,

for those who got interviews, may I ask when did you submit your application? Thanks!

What were some of your stats? I can’t tell if interviews are for people who have competitive stats but might be lacking in one department and they just needed another opinion, or interviews are for all people with competitive stats and anyone who doesn’t get an interview didn’t make the first cut?

and btw, are those interviewed sopho or junior applicants? I’ve heard that Harvard tends to interview more sophomore applicants to learn better how they’ve grown, but since junior applicants already have two years of college under their belt, this is less necessary.

It is a little difficult to specify the kind of applicants that are interviewed because CC is just a small subset of the whole applicant pool. I would say that sophomore applicants get interviewed a lot, but junior applicants also get interviewed too. I think one of those who has been contacted for an interview one here is a junior applicant. They definitely interview a lot of applicants though. Good luck to everyone with interviews so far, I wish I had one too.

I am a junior applicant and received and interview. I think people need to suppress the neuroticism CC breeds and just relax. There will be no indication of acceptance or rejection until the decisions are mailed or posted, so its a futile effort to try and decipher the small, trivial signs the admissions office gives.

Word! griffinmeyers nice one! we all need to chill out. I think I should stop coming on here. anyway, how did your interview go?

i hope everyone is hanging in there!

two points of note:

i called and re-confirmed the number of applicants. i told them that i had originally been told that it was a little over 300, and the person on the phone responded by telling me that i was either given incorrect information or that when i had called (which was relatively early) that was the official number that had been counted up to that point. the person on the phone assured me that the actual number was slightly over 500.

ive also been told that they plan on accepting “no more than 25” rather than “10-20”

i just called to see when decisions were being announced. THIS IS THE NEWEST UPDATE! the lady said, “the newest information that we have been given is that it will be at least may 15.” i then confirmed with her that this meant that the latest we would hear would be may 15, and she said that that was correct.

just want to keep everyone in the loop!

and to those who are fretting about not getting interviewed, dont worry about it! truth is, my research from past blogs has indicated that it is NOT a necessary prerequisite to admission. in other words, there were definitely kids who got in that did not receive one. it is, however, a good sign, i suppose. most CC’s historically that have been interviewed have been waitlisted.

Thanks for sharing, wellnow. Ur so nice ![]()
It helped me a lot.
O and may 15?! Woah it’s coming closer!!

What other schools are you guys/gals applying to? kakarooo, I assume you are applying to Yale as well? I’m waiting to hear back from U.Va tonight…YIKES!

So, it sounds like the transfer committee starts meeting on May 1, and they call you as soon as they vote to admit you. Fun!

And here we are…

I went all in for my transfer application. Good luck with Uva Bullmarket. It’ll be good to get decisions that early. Good info wellnow.
